Are you someone who is passionate about sharing good news stories about the Church of England in Devon using multimedia in a creative and engaging way? Can you help the Church connect in a 21st Century way with both Christian and secular audiences? The Diocese of Exeter is looking for an experienced video and social media producer to develop lively and thoughtful content. Are you the person to help bring to life our vision to Grow in Prayer, Make New Disciples and Serve The People of Devon With Joy?

The role holder will work alongside other members of the Communications and Engagement team to showcase the work of the diocese, local churches and the national church to internal and external audiences via a range of different channels.

Working alongside other members of the Communications team the post-holder will:

  • Develop and deliver lively and engaging content across all appropriate channels to help bring the Diocesan vision to life.
  • Help parishes effectively communicate and engage with their congregations and local communities.
  • Work collaboratively with different Diocesan teams (for example Mission and Ministry, Finance and Education) on media initiatives across the diocese.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has:

  • A qualification and/or substantial experience in video production or multi-media journalism
  • Good writing, filming and editing skills
  • Strong social media experience and is across new trends
  • Lots of creative ideas with the ability to bring them to life enthusiastically
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently

The Diocese of Exeter serves the county of Devon, including Torbay and Plymouth. It includes a mix of urban and rural churches. We are a diverse family of Christians with a wide variety of worship styles and traditions. There are a lot of innovative projects underway in the Diocese and much work still to be done so this is an exciting time to join the team based at the Old Deanery in Exeter.
