We are a very diverse and gradually growing congregation, located on the outskirts of Chatham in Kent. We are close enough to London to make us a commuting area. This has brought many people into the area who travel to the city for work, but who are also keen to establish local roots.
We are not perfect, but know the love of God, even when we make mistakes. We strongly believe the Church is a safe place where we can practice our faith before taking it into the world where it belongs and encourage the use of God's gifts in all their forms.
The Bishop of Rochester would like to appoint a part-time vicar (Sunday plus 2 days pro-rata/ equivalent time) who will work with our congregation to lead us into the next season of the church with an emphasis on family and community.
The PCC have identified the following areas as those that we hope would form the basis of our ministry to the family and the wider community:
Prayer and Worship
The suitable candidate should be able to bring the Word of God in a relevant, accessible and applicable manner. They should also be able to journey with us in prayer, helping us to become more like Christ.
Equip for Mission
Equip and enable members of Christ the King to share their faith in their everyday lives so that they become disciples who make disciples. In addition, to encourage us to use our spiritual gifts in a way that would bless others and glorify God.
Work with local schools, groups and other local churches to further the work of God in our wider community.
