With a willingness to lead a variety of forms of services (with both traditional and modern music), you should be looking to play an active role reaching out across the parish, participating in village life and encouraging people to grow in faith and confidence.
There is a strong and supportive leadership team including a Children and Families Minister, committed to our of vision of of Discovering, Celebrating and Sharing Life with God through Jesus Christ.

Please note we have a policy in the Diocese of Southwark that to be appointed to an incumbent-status post, a priest must normally have served a stipendiary title in an Anglican church in the British Isles, or, following a Candidates Panel for ministers of other Churches and Priests from other Anglican Provinces, has met the Adviser’s recommendations for appointment to posts of incumbency status, set out in a report to the Diocesan Bishop.
Woodmansterne is a semi-rural Surrey village about 5 miles inside the M25. The Parish borders are long and narrow and reach into Chipstead, Coulsdon and Carshalton. There are two main roads with a few side estates, the village being green-buffered in every direction by woods, allotments and farms. St. Peter’s is in the centre of the village, close to a school, independent shops and a pub. The Church is open daily and is regularly used.
We have a range of outreach groups including Discipleship Groups, Prayer Chains, Prayer Walks for the parish and the ‘Bus Stop Café’, and support to the Royal Alfred Seafarers Society.
This is an active parish with many groups covering a range of interests from; Messy Church, Toddler Group, Film Club, monthly pub lunch group, a walking group, and over 60’s club.
We are a bible-based Church and God’s word is accessible to all through varied styles of Sunday Services.
To lead us in spiritual growth, and support our vision:
Discovering – Learning and Deepening in faith as we meet together on Sundays and in Study Groups
Celebrating – Together through shared experiences and prayer in our faith in Jesus Christ, our love of God, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
Sharing – The Good News within the Church and our local community through word and deed
To work collaboratively with other Churches in the area, working in partnership and developing new ways of working and meeting together.
A strong leader who is an encourager and enabler. An accomplished preacher to hold and engage the congregation with Bible-based teaching relevant to daily life.
Someone to lead and inspire the church family to share their faith (not just on Sundays) and willing to continue to work with other churches in the area.
