The person appointed will come into the Benefice and Deanery at a time of transition. The Leverhulme Team is in the process of being dissolved due to pastoral breakdown. The Team has been in existence for sometime but has not worked productively together so therefore we are looking for someone who can identify the strengths that St Stephen's and St James already have and see the opportunities to grow these and build new ones. The expectation is for stronger working relationships and a more collaborative ministry as each congregation has its own challenges in terms of mission, ministry and pastoral support.
The interim minister will also work towards looking to build a larger team for the future with other parishes in the Deanery.
The Deanery has a very active Mission Action Plan, which is regularly reviewed. The Chapter and Deanery Synod meetings are well attended and supported.
