General Assistant/Cook

Overview

The Diocese of Leeds wishes to appoint a General Assistant with an interest in cooking, to join their team at Parcevall Hall in Appletreewick, Skipton, the Diocesan Retreat House.

S/he will work in a small, friendly team, working 20 or 30 hours a week. Duties will include housekeeping and front of house, with the opportunity for cooking duties catering for up to 30 people.  The successful applicant will be required to work weekend and evening shifts, as necessary. Training will be given as required.

Role Responsibility

The main duties of the general assistant are:

  • cleaning the Hall
  • doing laundry
  • preparing the Dining Room
  • serving meals
  • clearing and washing up
  • preparing and cooking food
  • setting up the Chapel for services is also required from time-to-time

Parcevall Hall is the retreat house and conference centre of the Church of England Diocese of Leeds.

With excellent facilities for conferences, retreats and holidays, it offers the comfort and character of an old house, the peace of a rural setting and the scenic beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Available to private individuals as well as to religious and secular groups alike, the Hall can be booked for residential conferences and holidays or for day groups and evening functions.
